Off to Veracruz

Tyler left today at 6:00 a.m. for Mexico.  After a layover in Fort Worth, Texas, and Mexico City, he will arrive in Veracruz around 6:00 p.m.

He called and talked to his Mom from the airport in Texas.  He had the opportunity to do missionary work on the plane and shared a Book of Mormon with a young man he was sitting next to.

He also said his District was the ONLY group to leave on time for the mission field to Mexico.  After they were able to get their visas last week, they went to the Church Office Building for their travel tickets.  The lady in the office was crying and said no one ever leaves on time for Mexico!  She was overwhelmed that they were able to leave as scheduled.  What a testimony of the power of prayer!

Hola Familia y Amigos.

Welll i got a sweet little letter in the mail on friday that says i need to notify my parents that i will not be leaving to Mexico on time. It the goverment who is slacking on getting visas for everyone and none of the Elders that are supposed to leave on the 25th are leaving. But Honestly. i knew that since the first week i have been here i just didnt want to telll anyone. So we always talk to other elders who are goin to Mexico and what is happening is that they are getting a temporary assingment to go serve somehwere else in the states for about 2 months or so until there Visas come. but i want to tell you that we had a little miricle with our Visas. So the first week we got here we were able to meet our new mission president in Veracruz just before he left to go. and he told us about the Visa situation and told ua never to miss a day of praying ofr our visas. So our District decided from the beginging that we were goin to never miss a day and always be optimistic and have Fe in the Lord that we will go when he wants us to go. So yesterday we got word that for alll the Elders who are supposed to leave on the 25th for Mexico that they have our Pre-Visas, which means that with those we can go talk to the Consolate and talk to them about our Visas and once we do that we will get our visas within a couple days if not that day. And we get to go to the Consolate in like a week or so hopefully. So just keep praying for our visas please. But they said that we willl for sure not get a Temporary assingment cause it wont be that long. How awesome is that. I now that prayer works and so does faith. THere is no doubt in my mind. Yay. so i willl keep ya’ll updated. hip hip hooray. But that is the latest with that. THings are going awesome.

Congrats to Shersti and Matt and little baby conner. The pictures were a-stinkin-dorable.

Oh ya. We had the sweetest devotionall yesterday. It was giving by ELDER DALLIN H. OAKS. BOOOOYA. and i was two rows from the front. there was such an amazing spirit there and he spoke on how we need to partake of the sacrement worthy every sunday and prepare fo it. And also on having the SPirit and teaching with it. AMAZING.

So since our teachers left we dont really have any set teachers but we are getting by. We went ot the RC yesterday and i made calls en SPanish and i talked to this guys that was from Mexico for about 15min. It was crazy but vary hard.

SO this week is our last week for our progressive investigator and tomorrow we are teachign him a huge leccion on the Atonement. And i did a sweet study about it today and it was the best study i have had since i have gotten here. I learned so much and cant wait to teach him tomorrow.

How is home treating all of you. Anything cool happing?? how i s rebecca rohmhildt doing over in that part of the world and dane bennion also. Whats the update?? sounds pretty scary.

SO i got another little resfrio again. but it is going away for sure. Not hanging around too long this time but just being in this little of an area for so long the germs just get passed around. Oh so awesome. hahahahahahah.not.

So i heard chase is going to Tuscan, AZ that is wicked rad. is he speaking spanish or engilsh or gibbrish.?? and that article on him was so cool. tell him congrats and he is the man and will work miricles on his mission. im excited for him. and When is Koa coming into the MTC.??? I might still be here if it is next week. Someone holla at me and let me know hahaha..

Well this week has been a great week. we are just having fun and studying hard. Did you all get my postcard. our Band postcard?? hahah. goodtimes.

Hola familia

Wow. So guess what?? i got one and a half weeks left. Im prettty sure that is so crazy.
Ahhhhhh. I dont even kno0w spanish.
Funny story about me not knowing spanish. So our District went to the RC on Monday. And
the RC is where you go to make calls or recieve calls from people who want like a Book of
Mormon or one of the vidoes or something. And we were all doing them in english and so i
was feeling a little brave(prob a little tooooo brave) and decided to do them in Spanish.
So i was  wicked nervous and i finally got a hold of this man and by that time the WHOLE
district was behind me just listening. So i said a coulle things that was on the script
to say. Then he said something about how his brother who ordered the Book was not home
until 7 because he was working. And i just froze and didnt know what to say back. So i
said, “I will call you back” In english hoping he would understand and he
totally didnt so i freaked and threw the headphones to my teacher who actually speaks
spanish and he finished it off for me. hahahahahah. Ahhh. it was funny. But im going
again next week and i will get it next time. But the spanish is coming. hahah.
By the way. Thats so cool that Javin got his call to puruguay. hoooray. So did chase get
his call or what?????
Anyway. I see Hermana Bankhead (melissa) everyday here. she leaves next week for Alaska.
Aweet. She will do so great. Oh ya. And last summer while i was working in D.C we went
down to Virginia Beach to sell for a couple weeks and when we went to the singles ward,
Elliot and i met this one black guy, and he  was tight but we only talked once and it was
his last sunday there. But i totally ran into him here a couple days ago. It was a
pleasent surprise. It was fun. So tell Elliot that cause he is not writing me back.
But its been a great week. I have really learned so much this week. One thing that hit me
really hard is how much the Ward plays a part in The conversion process to and how much
we need to get the Ward involved and how we need to help everyone. I never really looked
at it like that but im sure i will more fully understand that concept when i really get
out into the field and have a Ward to work with. Im so excited to do that and get the
Members involved. Cause the Memebers are what really keep tha new converts active and
they really need friends in the Ward and it will make it so much easier for them to stay
active. Yay.

Soo how is all going at home??? have’nt really heard from anybody but its alright. Im
pretty sure Shersti had her baby. And i heard it from a friend. hahahah. But that is so
cool. Im so excited.  I hope i see some picture sometime. But i know you all are pretty
busy with that and that is so important. Wait…..Whats his name…..no wait dont tell me
until i come home in two years. That would be awesome to the maxx. hahahah.
So i sent my Memory card home and so if you could take all the pictures off and put them
on a computer and send it back. But i need it quick if thats possible cause i leave on
the 25th. Sorry its so rushed. ;( But i would appreciate it mucho.
Oh ya this weekend we are teaching the 2nd leccion in spanish for our weeklky Test type
thing. Its goin to be great. WIcked excited to teach it.
Our two teachers left already this week. Hermano Jackson left on Saturday. He was such an
amazing teacher. ANd Hermano Johnson left on monday. They are really great teachers.
Hermano Johnson Server in Veracruz so her would sho us a abunch of pictures and stuff of
Veracruz. It was so sweet. And he gave us alll these pictures her took of the Varecruz
Temple and wrote stuff on the back. It was awesome and i have never met a more LOving
Individual then Hermano Johnson is. He is so great.

MOM HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Im prettty sure its either today or tomorrow. And you know how good i
am with Birthdays. ahahahah, But HAppy birthday. Love ya lots. hope have an Marvillosa
Birthday.

Hola Parents y Familia

Wow i cant believe shersti and matt are having there baby already. Thats sooooooooo cool.
Well alls i got to say is that i best be seeing some pictures por favor. THat would be
great. Well this last week i have really learned alot about…..well alot of stuff.
But i got some updates. So with our progressive Investigator “spencer” We
taught him last week on THursday and he says he had been having problems coming to our
church cause he didnt want his freinds to hate hima dn so on Thursday we decided to Bring
Elder Moyar and Elder Harris to that appointment to act as converts to the Church and it
went soooo well. We talked for about 35min and just taught him about fe and blessings. It
was a really great time and even though it was alll fake i could reallly tell how much
members of the Church would be able to someone who is investigating or that is talking
the leccions becuase then we asked him if he would come to church with the members and he
said ya. They just feel more comfortable and they have a friend already in the Church. So
i realized how important it was. Sweet. Then we taught him again Yesterday and we taught
him about The Holy Ghost. And he really enjoyed it and it was super super hard to teach
about the Holy Ghhost in Spanish, but we totally did it. Crazy here in the MTC. But he
finally accepted to be baptized and it was so cool. Its really fun don this fake
investigator thing. It helps soooo o much with teaching skills and my spanish especially.

So here are some kinda funny things that happend this week. Ok first. We have this rule
in class that if you speak english in class then for every word you say you have to do 2
Push-ups for everyword. And monday night i was not doing good. I eventually got up to 50
push-ups…..now lets be honest….i cant even do like 20 Push-ups, and i had to do 50.
hahahaha. But the whole class decided to do them with me and so did my teacher. It was
sweeeet. But i almost died. Yep im still sore.
Story two. So I had to go the bathroom and i was just finishing up and my glasses were
on my pocket and i accidentally hit them and, all in slow motion, they flew right into
the toilet. I was freaking out and i really contemplated flushing the toilet and then
going in to get them but i realized that prob would not work out. SO i…..got them.
hahah. THen Elder Taylor decided to tell the whole class about it and we all just wicked
busted up. It was pretty funny. Good times here.
By the way. Both of our teachers are leaving at the end of this week. THey are honestly
the beast teachers i have ever had and Hermano Jackson is leaving on Saturday and Hermano
Johnson on monday. So we will be getting new teachers for the next TWO WEEKS. THats all i
got left . AHHHHHHHHH/. crazyness all around me.
So sounds like Nataylas Baby shower….oh wait… Wedding shower went down and it was
quite the parrrrrrrty. Thats great. What else is new. Anything cool happen???
Dont worry i have been getting all the letters. we are all good. So are you all putting
pictures on my BLOG also. Thats cool i have a blog. Mucho Gracias family. Dad, did you
bust your ankle?? lo siento. Hope it gets better asap. But for our Devotionals and
Firesides we have just had emeridice quorm of the Seventy come. They have been pretty
good but im =still just waiting for the profeta to come give us some sweetness. But who
knows.
Oh ya and someone has got to update me on chases mission call thing. I have not heard
from him and Mel said something about AZ. So just whenever. Bb=ut that is really
exciting. He is really goin to be such an amazing missionary and goin to touch so many
peoples lives….. not to mention he is a stud. shout out.
