Blanca Navidad – letter from Dec. 22, 2008

Hola familia y amiguitos.

Hey everyone. SO sounds like you all are getting your fill of the coldness. THat is so crazy that you are gettin so much stinkin snow. i couldnt even believe the pictures for real. hahahaha. SOMeone  has got to jump on that snow filled trampoline. It looks so beautiful and ready. hahahhahaah.

Well i got the 2 packages that you sent mi familia. thank you sooooooooo sooooooo much. I totally opend the ties and snack packs…..then felt guilty for opening my presents before christmas, so i stopped. ahahaha. but they are sweet ties……..who picked them out….katie ken…..mel……mom?????…..naaaa not mom. hahahaha.

I also got the packages from claire and Kourtney Garner. THank you two vary vary much. I really enjoyed them. SUPER AWESOME.

IMPORTANTE….. so call that number i gave you at 4:30 my time on 25 of dec. Because we have a baptisim that day later. THanks.

Well glad you all got the pitures. THis week was great. We had our conferencia this week in the city of veracruz which is 5 hours away. and the night before we stayed in another city to gt there on time at some misisonaries house and they put the mattress on the ground but we couldnt fit everyone on the ground so i slept on a bed without a mattress and only the box spring. All was metal….. ahhhhhh it hurt soooo bad because it was 2 nights in a row. hahahha. oh well. But the conferencia was way good. WE had lots of fun and i saw my comp from the MTC. That was good. ANd we also did a session at the temple in spanish……hard……but amazing like usually. just beautiful.

This week we have 2 baptisims. Matilde and camilo. they are miricles. Matilde is the sister of our ward mision leader and i remeber the first thing she told us was she will be the last person ever to get baptized. But for some reason she always asked us for blessings and she tokld us about this peace she always felt and then she came to church abnd all. ANd we started teaching her last week and she is sooooo ready. This is a gran testimonny that ONLY the Spirit converts. WEll i will wirte more nxt week. I love you all sooooooo much- cant wait to talk to  you all on thurday . if i dont hear from you then i will shoot you all a call. Adios.

Spanish y snow….and hip hip hoooorayness – letter from Dec. 15, 2008

Hola familia y amigos.

KATELIN IS GOING ON A MISION. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Im so so so so excited. especially because it is spanish speaking. ahhhh. you are really going to love it katie ken. congrats to spencer also. Mesa rocks. the heat will rock you. hahahahaa. hey, so the president visited our area this week on a little surprise, but it was cool. and we were talking about how brent is coming here. And he told mi to tell him to start walking. Cause that is all you will be doing. So BRENT. START WALKING.

Well its crazy that it is way cold there. i couldnt believe the pictures i saw. mainly  because i wont see snow for like 2 years or so. hahaha. alll good. But it was really really really cold here also.  Like i froze my little tail off. one of the days we even wore our sweaters all day because it was sooooooo cold. not sure what the degrees was….but freezing.

You want more turantula stories. well nothing huge this week. we only saw one in the calle. nothing too big.  But we saw more iguanas in la venta this week. HEY. HAVE YOU GUYS GOTTIN MY CDs WITH MY PICTURES?????????

oh so funny story. THis just proves im still getting used to the whole living on my own thing and having to buy my own medicine. SO i got the cold this week. And so i really wanted medicine to just wipe it out fast and this was my first experience buying medicine in spanish. hahahaha. so we went to the store and i pretty much just grabbed the first medicine i saw that said gripa. And i went with that. SO i took the first one in the night time right before bed. And i woke up the next morning and realized i didnt wake up once during the night, which is odd because my bed is the most uncomfortable thing i have ever felt. But i didnt think to much. Then i took another right before we left the casa and we went out and i was just feeling soooooooooooooo tired that whole first half of the day. Like doozing off in all the leccions we taught and fell asleep at our lunch appointment while the member was talking to us and when i woke up they all looked at mi weird. hahaha. Then it is time to take more…….so i did. and the rest of the evening i kept falling asleep  wherever we went. It was funny. Cause i physically could not stay awake. Then at the end of the day we were at a members house and i told them i was ridiculously tired and still sick. And i showed them what i was taking and they informed mi that it was the NIGHTIME MEDICINE. ooooops. ya im smart.

ANy way, i got to eat turtle this week. and half way through the meal they informed mi that it was illegal to eat. oooooops. but i got to eat it.

WEll this week went way good. we finally finished the list that we have been working on for the past couple months. so now we will have time to start knocking doors. yayayyayayaya. SO cool thing. one of our investigators that we have been teaching for about 3  months decided to get baptized on the 25th- YAYAYAYAYA. So we are really really excited for that. He told us that he has not drank in 2 months. SO it was just amazing to see how this Gospel really does change people and how they can better fell the Holy Ghost in there lives. im soooooo excited for him . He is 19 and just a great kid.. Our other investigator Luis, his date is now for the 27th of this month. Just making sure that he is fully prepared. but he is making great progress and is really using prayer to help fight the temptations of  the world today. He really has that desire to change and if he puts in his part, Our Father in Heaven will bless him with the strength he needs. im super super excited for these people .

Well sounds like everything is just going great. i cant even believe my little katie ken is going on a mision. ahhhhh. Hermana Minetto. yayayayayy. ANd MELISSA.BOYFRIEND. HUH. atta girl. hahahahah. im

Oh for the calling stuff on the 25th. Well we are not sure yet. Cause we have that bautismo and a zone activity all during the day. so not sure when i will have time. But for right now i am going to say. call mi at 6pm my time. And if something changes i will let you know. and i will give you the final word next monday. ok. here is the number. its at a familys house. My ward mission leader. just have neil talk if someone besides mi picks up. hahahahhaa.

Oh the Christmasnessssssss – letter of Dec. 8

Hola hola familia y amigos.

WEll sounds like the christmas party was a blast. hahahaha. Tell the marinos cant wait to chat with them a little in spanish when i return. hahaha. yay.  HoOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORAYYYYYY for katie ken and spencer.cant wait to here where they are going to do the Lords work. ahhhhhh. YOu guys are going to LOVE it. its the greatest thing out there.

WEll this week was a great fun filled week. So i want to start off by telling you about my little English friend named Ian Coates. Google him or something cause i cant, and tell mi what you find. So on tuesday we were waiting at the bus terminal and  i heard this voice say, i bet you speak english dont you. but it was in a english accent. so i looked back and ya of course i accidentally responded in spanish. Then felt dumb and said. ya. whats up. why are you here. hahahaha. so i did a little translating to get him a bus ticket and he was going to the same city we were. so on the bus we talked and this is his story. He is 65 yr old and has been traveling the world on his motorcycle since 1999 and has already done australia, africa, and all of europe. And started in chile and while coming through mexico he crashed near Agua Dulce and ended up here and needed to get to the hospital to get x-rays. So ya. he is on his way up to meet his wife in the USA and then he is going to Alaska. Yep. SO i dont know if there is just a carazy Enlish dude walking around mexico or he is really traveling the world. SO let me know. it was funny.

But ya. Anyway. i have had a cold for the past couple days and just trucking around. but none the less. Estamos trabajandoo durisimo…   We are teaching an hno (brother) named luis and he has had all the lecciones but about 4yrs ago. But we found him and are teaching him again and he is getting baptized the 20th of dic. yayayyayayaya. he is great and really looks to follow Christ and his example. awesome huh. ALso this week we had such an amazing experience. The sister of the Ward mission leader, said she wanted to talk with us and her brother and an other member from the ward. This family is great. she is catolica and so is the rest of her family except her two brothers which one is the ward mission leader and the other is the assistant. And she has a kid and is not married. just a little background. but she said she just wanted it to be us 6 and wanted to just sit and FEEL while we talked about the Gospel. So we started talking and right away you could feel the spirit. And she started crying. And it was amazing. we talked for about an 1 hour and a half. And she cried the whole time and said she just love to feel the feeling she feels when she is in the church and with members of the church. And she came to church this week for the 1st time. It was amazing. we will hopefully start to give her the lecciones. ahhhhh. jsut an amazing spirit i felt there. Welll . I dont have a whole lot of time left. I love this work and i love my Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus Christ and his Atonement. Hip Hip hooray. thanks for all the love and support and the boxes i heard are getting sent. By the way i dont know how to do this call thing on Christmas. i will let you know when i find out. Love you all lots.

It totally worked!!! Tyler’s letter of 12/1

Hola familia y amigos.

Dont you worry litttle mommy. your letter totally worked out fine. Well sounds like Thanksgiving was a blast. I totally forgot it was thanksgiving until in the night as we were going to the last cita my comp reminded me. So we decided to give thanks to the mom of our ward mission leader who is awesome and she always cooks really good food and we wash over there and she is awesome…. but not a member. SO we bought flowers for her and all for thanksgiving. It was probably one of the best THanksgivings i have ever had. ANd when we gave it to her i totally said ¨happy thanksgiving¨ in english cause its not something i say in spanish all the time and they all looked at me weird then i realized they didnt understand me. hahahaha. oooops. But it was really fun. I guess the funniest thing that happened this week was when were teaching a family a chicken flew from one side of the yard over to us and totally landed on the dads head……hahahaha. yep. i will let your imaginations play that one out. I thought it was halarious. hahah. I always like to throw in a good laugh in my cartas. Well we got new counsel from our mision presidente, y he said that friends have to write me through your email mom and dad. So can you tell people. you guys are like a little filter thingy. haha. cool huh. so when you get letters from my friends just forward them to mi. thank you soooo much. i appriciate all the help. But familia can still write mi directally.

Oh ya. i sent the cds. 2 one with videos and the other with just pictures. can you let mi know when you get them and keep them safe please. THks.

so we got the information about calling on christmas……we cant call. this year they are not allowing anyone to talk to their family except the ones that are leaving this cambio. Ya its kinda depressing but its the rule……………………………..hahahahaha. Not. april…..december fools day. SO we can talk for 1 hour either on christmas eve or christmas day. whichever you guys want. just a little heads up.

Well this week was good. i learned so much through study and prayer and listening to the Spirit. it was a great week. We got the opportunity to work in La Venta. Its a city about 40 minutes away and there is a rama there and they meet in a little house. they have about 20 members active, but they are awesome and super humble. love it. SO we worked there alot this week cause its part of our area also. So it was really fun. Oh by the way. saw the biggest iguana in my life in La Venta. It was bigger then a cat and it ran in front of us in this little dirt road we were on then climbed the tree. But La Venta is sweet. its actually not in the state of Veracruz. THe only area that is not.

Also we worked alot with these two youths that are not members and they have a bautismal date. so they are excited and the one guy who has 15 anos always asks use about how he can be a missionary and told his sister that he wants to be a missionary. it was so awesome to see. YOu can really see the light of christ in these two jovens. THey are so awesome and ready. ahhhh. Its the greatest thing to see people preparing for baptism. Nothing more special then this. I cant wait for katelin to get her call. She is going to love it. I hope she is not freaking out too much waiting for it. I know i almost peed my pants. WElll i gotts go. but thank you all for everything that you have done for me. you all are such great examples.

P.s i have an ingrown finger nail i think. its totally pussing and all. ewwwww huh. hahahah. i should prob get it checked out no.

P.P.s. tell brent to not eat chicken or soup or tortillas until he gets to mexico…… no seriously. give them all up. hahahahah.
