Tyler’s letter from his new area…first transfer.

———- Forwarded Message ———-
Bueno amigos y familia

WEll this is coming at ya all straight from Isla itself. That was good to hear about katelins farewell. Sounds like everything went super smooth and she is just shining like a little misionera. Im glad everything turned out well in the farewell talk and all. THose were super funny the little fun facts about New Jersey…… i have two question for you though…. dont laugh though……were is New Jersey again????’ (im sure mel can relate with mi I-POWER) hahahah. and what mission is it called again???

Well let mi tell you what it is like here in Isla Los Tuxtlas.  Its pretty wicked wicked hot. like im getting my tan on really well and am goin back to that whole never will be free of sweat as long as i live. hahaha. But the Pres. drove past my area the other day and called mi and told mi that it was 90 plus degrees at 10:00am. boooooo. hahaha. but is super flat. and cookie cutter roads. its ALOT different then my last area de verdad. anyway. Its a Branch here and there is alot of work to get done for sure. we have another little area in ours and its called ROdriguez.  ITs like 30min from here and its super pretty. But they dont have a church building or anything and they have alot of members out there but casi all are inactive because its soooo far of a drive and they dont have the money. But we are actually right now starting up, what they call a GROUP out there. where we just have church and all the meetings in someones house. We are organizing it right now…. i will keep you all updated with that. should be a hard project but i know with the Lord…. NOTHING is impossible.

By the way. ITS PINEAPPLE HEAVEN out here. there is soooooo much and all the people give us here is PINEAPPLE. like for gifts…they will just give us straight Piñas. hahahaha. sweet eh.

But the rest of our Zone is in San Andres and is super super super pretty out there. lots of mountains and just super pretty.
ANd Elder Watts is in my zone…. he is from my generation and just an awesome friend. so it was good to see him this week.

And thanks Hno. merino. yo le escribire pronto.

Well this week was really good. The truth is it was super weird coming to this area because i was pretty quite at first and i have new responsibilities. Im not going to lie. i was a little scared but the truth is that the Lord will make to weak things become strong if we just humble ourselves before Him and do HIS will and not ours.
But this week on saturday we are going to have a baptisim of a niña of 9 years. Her mom and all were all inactive but have came back to church and they are just great miembros.
But this week really we just knocked alot of doors to find alot of investigators cause they were running short here. But the Lord has really been with us these past couple days and the Gift of discernment really does exist. Because sometimes in the mission we have investigators that are not progressing but we just want to hold on to them but some times we just need to let go…. i hear a really good quote that said…. some times it takes more faith to let go of a non-progressing investigator then to continue with them.

But i will give you a better update on things next week. Thnaks to all for the wonderful support and love. thanks familia. Love you all.

Love you all long time
Elder Minetto
p.s tell koa to write mi. :) por favor

Tyler’s letter of Feb. 9

———- Forwarded Message ———-
WEeeeeeeee.

Hola familia y amigos

so we are totally having Transfers(thanks to dad i know that word in ingles) tomorrow. im going to what is called isla. President told mi that it is smaller then where i am right now and it is more farmy and puebloy. So this shall all be interesting. ANd im kinda scared cause im going up as mayor and im going to be what they call PADRASTO o step-father, to my new comp. this means his was just with his Padro o his dad of the mission or his Trainer and im the next comp he will have. Its more responsibility but i know im totally not doing it alone. My Father in Heaven will be there right with mi in every step. Im super excited cause i will finallyu see one of the guys from my MTC distrito there. yayaya.  so that is the low down on what going down. im pretty darn excited to go there and have more experiences. yiiiipeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
And this week it got cold for a day so i packed on the layers of sweaters and we were walking around and decided to go somewhere else and so we hitchhiked and we got in this car and they had the temp in farenheit and it said 73 degrees. HOW EMBARASSING. ahahahaha.

I cant even stinking believe Spencer is already taking off. he is going to KILL it out there. Im super excited for him…..and katie ken. whoooooo. Miss popular with 10 friends from BYU.äs they say here….Perdone. hahahaha. you better give mi a detAILED thingy of what went down at your farewell. y  suerte to neil and melly.

Well this week was good. we had a good experience one day. We walked into this gym of where one investigator works to talk with him and right as we were going to leave a man came up to mi and started talking in ingles. Well tried anyway…. but he apoke vary well. and he said he wanted to learn. so we invited him to church…cause we are missionaries…hahaha…..and he came and we taught him about ingles and then about the gospel and he is really interested and has a  wife and 2 kids.  I found 2 things great about this little incident. 1. really pays off sometimes to be a giant whitey here in Mexico :) 2. the Lord really just prepares people does it through different ways and he really does work n mysterious ways.

well time has finished. Gots to go have my last Noche de hogar here in Agua Dulce with Marcelo y his familia. THanks for all. And as for my birthday. i have not even thought that far out. Im sure i will be good with all.  Keep it real to all and to all a good night…..uhhhh dont really know what i just said. But thanks for everything you all do for mi.

Love you all long time

Some translations for us non-spanish speakers:
pollo = chicken
rama = Branch

hey familia y amigos.

Well this week was super super great. number one cause this family decided to make mi french toast. hahahaha. it was super delicious. sorry if i use the word super alot cause its actually a word here in mexico y they use it all the time. hahhahaha. Welll im SUPER excited for Elder Holman. he is just going to tear it up on the mision. Send mi a coouple of his weekly emails if someone could. im super excited to see him here. And could someone send mi his email in the MTC cuase i need a couple special things. Thanks.  Well this week i got to experience how to kill and prepare a pollo first hand….literally. They family of three that is hopefully getting baptized this week….pray for them please…….but after there leccion on sunday they wanted mi to help them kill there pollo and prepare it cause they were freaking out cause i had never done it before. SO i held the pollo by the legs and she totally just grabbed it by the neck and……..yep….i think you all can figure it out. hahahaha. then ya th rest got grosser. but the ducks fought over the head after she chopped it off. hahaha. it was super funny.
Well this week we had some super super cold weather. I even wore one of my comps thermals to bed one night cause i was soooooo cold. it was like 18 grados here…..not sure what it is in the USA weatherness. hahaha. oops

Pues this week was great. We got the opportunity to baptize a niño of 9 years and his grandma which is hi guardian and his brother are already members. It was a great experience and just super super neat. He will be a great leader in the church and just a great little example. But we are starting to work more and more in La Venta and have a couple of investigators there. So we are super  excited about that. They are super humble people but they are really ready to hear the gospel. It has been great to work out there. The president of the rama out there is just awesome and he is really helping out the rama grow everyday. He loves the work and the Gospel. Well all i got to go. THnks for all

You all are SUPER sweet. thanks for the love and support and prayers.

Bautismo…get your elbows off the table Elder Minetto pum pum

Posted by Neil Minetto on Feb 15, 2009 in Uncategorized

Letter Jan. 12, 2009

———- Forwarded Message ———-
hahahhaha.

Hola familia y amigitos

Hope you all liked my title. Its a really funny story.
Mommy. Just put his name up top and the the phone number next to his name and then the address. It should get there. But send it fast cause im leaving probly from here in the beginning of feb. go go go g-ma. So thats crazy tha all is quiet at the house. Tell spencer or some of my friends to get that place rocking and rollin please. hahahaha. the MINETTO HOUSE HAS TO ALWAYS BE BUMPIN. :)

Well i will tell you all this really funny stroy. so yesterday we were eating with some members and they had just put the food down and it was hott and th end it was a glass table. So here in Mexico we ALWAYS eat with our hands and fingers and hardly ever with utencils. Its was wierd at first. But its normal to have your hands and elbows on the table. ITS NORMAL. But like my parents ALWAYS taught mi, ¨get you elbows off the table¨ but here its different. SO they gave mi my food and i put my elbows up and was just resting and we were all talking and then all the sudden i heard a lound BANG and i looked down and HALF the table was in my lap with all the food and a bunch of food in my comps lap. And the two first things that went through my mind right after was…….man my parents were sooooo right……then the GIRLS CAMP SONG ¨get your elbows off the table elder minetto bam bam¨. hahah dont ask how i  know that song. But ya. they all laughed and just about the whole Colonia heard about it. hahahha. But all is well. i dont have to purchase a knew one. and i gues i have not learnd my lesson caue im still going to put them up. hahahha. sorry padres.

Well this week was SUPER awesome. we had the bautismo of DAVID. on Friday they got married and then on saturday he got baptized. He is going to be such a great leader in the church and really affect many peoples lives. We can really tell how much he loves the Gospel of Jesucristo and how much he wants to be like him and have a Eternal Familiy. But its so awesome cause right now we have a family in teaching and the dad WAS worried that he couldnt get baptized cause he didnt know alot of doctrine. But two things came to mind. First…. Im 19 and im teacing 50 yearolds and i dont know anything, but its throguh the SPirit that we can learn and teach and with our Testimonys we know enough. ANd 2…. when we started teaching David he didnt even know that GOd, Jesucristo, and the Holy Ghost were seperate people and only though jesucristo existed. But what he did have after a little time was a  little little testimony and that was all he needed to get baptized. that is all. Baptisim is just the door to a whole lot more.

Well thanks for everything friends and familia. You all are a great support and love you all alot.

Mom and dad. Im going to take out 50 dollers tomorrow. And ya. They didnt have money so we got the opportunity to pay for it. So thanks for helping out soooo much mom and dad in the LORDS work here in mexico. I appreciate it.

Love you all long time

Tyler’s letter of Jan 5, 2009.  Happy New Year

———- Forwarded Message ———-

Hola familia y amigos

WEll this week was super sweet. Especially at the end.

But first i just want to let you all know that i hold a special record here in AGUA DULCE.  WEll there was a Elder here that ate 25 garnachas at the house of Mercelo(ward mision leader). So the other night when we had a FHE over there they wanted to see if i could break the record. SO i did. i totally ate 26. BOOOOOYAAAAa. hahahaha. but i was really full for the whole next day and really didnt eat for a whole day after. ahaha. But i totally hold a record. yaya.
Anyway. i dont have a whole lot of time so i will be quick. I got my new comp this week. His name is Elder Alvarado. Sounds mexican but is from San Diego CA. His mom and dad are both mexican and he knew spanish before his mision. SO he speaks realllllly well and helps mi out with my spanish whenever i need it. But he is a really great guya and a really good missionary. And we are going to have much EXITO. This week was really really slow at first becaue of all the changes in our area. on tues i was at Coatza in the bus terminal for 11hours waiting for my comp. BOOOOERING.  But the real highlight this week is that we are teaching this girl who has 17 years and is pregnant  her boyfriend of 20yrs. She is a member and just really awesome and supportive.  WE are teaching her boyfriend David and he is ready. So he cant get baptized until they get marrried so…….they are getting married por servir this week and his baptisim is this saturday. it all happend soooo quickly. was super awesome. they are super excited and just have a really really good dupport group.
The other is a family of 3. mom and dad and son of 11yrs. They know a bunch of people in the church but just have never gone. ANd they have seen alot of the changes in Marcelo and a couple of our converts that used to drink and smoke alot but they all have changed so much. ANd we invited them to church and they even got there before we did. It was an amazign feeling i felt when i saw THEM greeting ME to church. THey totallly looked like an mormon familia. yayaya. But then that same day we went to there house and put a date with them. They have a baptisimal date for the 23th of this month. so we are super super super super excited right now and just working super super hard. Well all is going well. We didnt have a whole lot of time to write cause we were in Coatza today. Thanks for everthing family and friends. You all rock my socks. Love you all super much.
By the way. in coatza there is a mall that is SUPER americanized. It has a subway and the best thing is an…. APPLEBEEs. the greatest place on earth. i freaked out like crazy and took pictures by the applebees and subway. hahahahahaha. i wll send them next week.

Aright mom. SO if you want to send them a packege here is the address. It will prob tsake about 1 month to get there. 3rd calle number 2 Col. El Suspiro. Agua Dulce, Veracruz, Mex 96610. Put the name Juan ANtonio Javier Leon. And this telephone number. 923-23-32697

Love you all long time

Christmas Miracle

Posted by Neil Minetto on Feb 15, 2009 in Uncategorized

Tyler’s letter of Dec. 29

———- Forwarded Message ———-

Hola hola hola familia y amigos.

Ahhhhhh. WE had a Christmas miracle and the best Christmas present i have ever received(sorry mom and dad, your presents were always sweet, dont worry) BUt we had a baptism on Christmas day and the day after. yayayaya.

But first it was really really really good talking to all of you guys. Time flys on the mission and i cant believe i actually already talked with you guys. It went by soooooooo fast. But it was really good. Sounds like everything is just rocking and rolling back there. You guys are great. Thanks for everything.  I got two more packages from G-ma and G-pa Minetto. THank you sooooo much. THe treats are delicious and the ties are sweet. Nice and old school. hahahha. THanks. ANd thnks Megan ]Hartly. Totally got your package. The Kinder Delite totally melted all over the box on the inside. Buutttttttttttttt like i am. i still ate it .hahahahahaha. THnks muchisimo.

Welll we had a great week. a nice activity in Coatz. But im just going to tel about the baptisims because they are miracles.

Well the First baptisim was on Chrsitmas Day. His name is Camilo. he is 19 yrs old and just awesome. We had been teaching him since about the middle of sept. and he had a problem with drinking. so we taught and taught and taught. And we finished with all the leccions and really would just go and visit with him. Slowly but surly he stopped drinking but still wouldnt get baptized and we really did not know why. So we felt like we were wasting time with him so we told him that he has all the lecciones and when he feels like he is ready to let us know. He always came to church and we would just visit with him 1 a week or so then one day at church we asked him…so are you ready……and he said ya, im going to get baptized on the 25 de december. it was the greatest thing ever. And about 2 days ago he told us he wants us to help him prepare for a mision. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh .yayayayayyyayaya. GREATEST CHRISTMAS EVEVEVEVEVVEVR

The next is Mati and has about 34yrs. She is the sister of the Ward mision leader. The house i talked to you all from. When we fisrt got here every time we went to there house she would run into her room. Then she started asking us for blessings cause she gets sick alot. So we would. Then one time we were joking around and said when you getting baptized….and she said……never, my mom and dad and my brother will get baptized before mi. hahahaha. But she would always ask for blessings. Then one time she asked what that feeling was that she always felt in the blessings. THE SPIRIT. finally she told us she wants that feeling always in her life. And slowly but sure we started with the lecciones and she got an answer to her prayers and it was just awesome. It really  gave mi a huge testimony that ONLY the Spirit converts people. She joined the church because she felt the SPirit testify that this is the True church.  It was such a great baptisim. The Spirit was soooo strong and her non member mom and dad were there along with her member brothers and aunts and uncles. Fue tan espcial.
Greatest feeling in the world is watching someone enter into the waters of baptism making that covenant with our Father in Heaven.

Well i get a new compeñero tomorrow. pretty excited. we are going to have a lot of exito. Welll thanks you all for everything. Was really good to talk with you family. I lava you all sooooooooooo much.

Love you all long time
