Hello All – April 27, 2009

Posted by Minetto Family on Apr 27, 2009 in Uncategorized

Hola amigos y familia

Well really sounds like ALOT went on this week and is going to happen. Thats Super sad about Andrew Berg. Tell his family i really feel for them and send comforts to them.

Well i really cant believe EVERYONE is getting married. that is soooooo crazy. hahahah. well i congratulate every single one of them. ahaha. Go get em tigers. haha.

ok mom. here are the answers to your questions. So first Can you all call me at 6pm MY TIME. at 6pm MY TIME. So set it up with katelin so you guys call her at 7pm her time and 4pm your guyses time. cause i can do it later then 6 my time. And earlier then like 3. but thats it. So tell mi what you think. And figure it out with katelin too tomorrow when you talk to her. The number is ######. So tell mi what you guys think. and tell mi ASAP. thanks. Also my stomach is fine. My toe is good too. And the virus they say is barley getting here to veracruz. Who knows. i just found out about the whole thing like 2 days ago. I’m totally separate from the world.

Well i got a question mom and dad. How did i family join the church. what is the whole story. who received the Gospel first and all. where you guys born in the covenant or what. Help. Im confused.

Well this week was good. its was fun. Its like the Hottest place on this earth. i didnt know you could sweat sooooo much from like your arms and stuff. weird. I think im just
Growing up and starting to sweat. ahhhhh. cute huh.

But this week was good, we had to move a baptism date that we had for last week to this week cause of some family problems. But hopefully we can get everything rocking and rolling this week again. Well on saturday we had a youth activity and all the youth form the District came here to Isla. And we had 3 investigators of ours at this activity. so that was SUPER SWEET. And other missionaries came from San Andres to help us and we had
some cool activities and it made mi really want to be an EFY counselor when i get home. really bad. yeeeee. it would rock i think. But i realized its soooo important that our Youth learn the Gospel principles while they are still young so that they have that knowledge when they are old. And i realized they really need to be into the church cause they will realize once they move on from high school and all that those material possessions dont even matter. The things i craved for in high school are worthless to me. They need to know where the TRUE HAPPINESS is found, and its not found in drugs, girlfriends and boyfriends, cool movies, being popular, or even being the class clown and trying to fit in. that is not where it is found. It is found through the GOSPEL OF JESUS CRISTO and His ATONEMENT. That is where it is. I Promise. and i know cause i have found out for myself. tHey really need to know that. Its something i Wish i would have known. But we can all repent and learn form our mistakes. The Gospel Rocks and love it more then anything Youth. That is where true peace and happiness and joy are found. I promise.

Well yesterday in church was good. we had a good number of investigators show up and thanks to the Hand of the Lord we were able to meet our goals. Maybe thats why i was dead tired this whole week. I met a girl from New York this week who was at our ward this week. she was visiting her friend that baptized her in New York but he had to come back to mexico and so she came to visit him. She looked and me and said,,,,, oh my gosh i wanna speak English with you soooo bad. hahahaha. so we talked a little. But it was cool. She was a little culture shocked and really got her eyes open when she got here.

Well i hope we can figure all out with the Mothers day talk. Let mi know if you have any times when you absolutely cant talk. and tell me when you are all going to be in church. but let mi know ASAP. thnks.
love you all lots. Thanks for all the prayers and all.

Love you all long time

Stomach infecction and bautismos. (April 20, 2009)

Posted by Minetto Family on Apr 20, 2009 in Uncategorized

holla familia y amigos.

WEll this week was and exciting but a little bit on the harder side….health wise hahahah. So first of all i have never experienced the hot weather like i have here. its horrible. And im dying…… well i got used to the whole sweating 24/7. hahahaha.

Well it all started last week on sunday. i started to feel a little bad in the stomach but it really was nothing new. But then tuesday came and i couldnt sleep that night cause i had a MAD case of Diarrhea. And the worst part of it all was that we ran out of toilet paper half way through the night so being the Eagle scout i am and using all that Bro. Vendshus and Moore have taught mi, i grabbed some computer paper and made do with that. hahahah. sorry about the details. haahahaha. anyway. It got worse and worse and when thursday rolled around i couldnt take it anymore cause it felt like someone was ripping my insides out and i was using the bathroom every 5 min. So i gave up and called Sis Hansen and we tried many things but nothing worked so she told mi to take some expensive and strong pill. Let mi tell you about the greatest pill ever. It healed mi in like 3 days. I’m almost all the way better. It was sweet. But it was some type of stomach infection. oh well. i’m like 10 pounds lighter now.

WEll i dont have a whole lot of time. But this week we baptized a kid named Benito. here is his story.
So we were knocking doors one day and we walked passed this little courtyard with like 3 houses and i just looked at it and thought nothing and we walked right past it. But the Spirit told mi strong to go back. So i tried to be a faithful servant and we did and as we approached the houses a lady exited and i stopped her and we introduced ourselves and she told mi that she knew who we were and that she is a member. We went into her house and told us they went inactive a long time ago and her son has been wanting to go back to church but is too scared to go by himself. And that he wasn’t a member either. So that is the story. We got the privilege to baptize him yesterday and witness that miracle and the miracle that his family is now assisting church regularly. Its something else to see the Lord work with and entire family. Just something you can’t explain. Well miracles still exist and i have witnessed them sooooo many times in my mission. I know the Lord loves his children and want that they all return to live with him. These are our brothers and sisters we are talking about. NOT JUST STRANGERS. Our real brother and sisters. Who wouldn’t want that there brother or sister to have eternal life. well i love this Gospel and the guidance of the Holy Spirit we have in our lives. Love every single one of you. Thanks for all the love and support and prayers. They are definitely not wasted. Love you all.

Love you all long time

Baptisms – April 13, 2009

Posted by Minetto Family on Apr 14, 2009 in Uncategorized

hola familia y amigitos

Well this was super great. Mom just to answer some of your questions so you wont be freaking out any more. Yes they gave mi some antibiotecs drugs. So dont worry. Now the hardest part is just not being soooooo lazy and to take the pills. hahahah. dont worry mom i will. Hey i have not heard from mau yet. Ask him whats up for mi please mom.

Well on friday we had a conference of the zone with the president. It went really good and i really learned alot. We learned all about finding people cause the thing is that NOTHING happens in missionary work until you find someone. So it was a really eye opener for mi. i realized i need to look literally high and low for these people. On EVERY street and backstreet. Cause there are soooo many people just waiting or wanting the Gospel but they just dont know where to find it. So it was good,
Then right after the conf. we had a baptism of a girl that has 16yrs. She is great and is married..ya and you all thought the people at BYU get married to early hahah…….but she is married to a member and it was great. The SPirit was srtong and present at the service despite of all the problems we had before. Like I baptized in a half filled baptism font cause there was no water. So it was a little more difficult. But ya. It was awesome.

Well i totally forgot it was Easter last week. Cause they dont celebrate it here….well kinda. Its called semana santa. And its just a bunch of partys all day every day of the week. hahahaha. good ole mexico. Thats why i love it here. Well we had an awesome day at church yesterday. We had a good number of investigators show up and the Lord really blessed us. WEll all is well here. Thanks for everything family and friends….thanks for the birthday packages you guys sent mi. I will probably get them in about a month or soooo. Thanks for all. gotta go. sorry its short.

Love you all long time

General Conference and in-grown toenails

Posted by Minetto Family on Apr 6, 2009 in Uncategorized

Hola familia y amigos

Well this week was a fun filled week and i learned soooooo much. I was really glad to watch general conference after all the trials we had this week.

Well first off. Those pictures that i sent you all were from the salto de eyipantla. A water falls that is near my area kinda. But its huge and sweet. We went there to proselyte………..NOT. hahaha P-day all the way.

WEll for the past couple weeks i had been thinking that i had some in-grown toenails so i looked at them and i actually pulled one out buy myself….and let me tell you guys how much i screamed like a little girl. But then this week it started hurting again and then what pushed mi over the top was when it started pussing. ewwwwwwwwwww. So i called sis hansen and she told mi to go to the doctor. So i went and they just told mi to sit down and then shoved a NEEDLE in my toe like 7 times to numb it, and i guess they forgot to tell mi they were going to do it cause they prob figured i didnt speak Spansih till when she pulled out the NEEDLE i freaked out and asked them WHAT THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE DOING
WITH THAT THING. Then they decided to talk to mi . hahahaha. But after they got mi toe numb they shoved some scissors down my toe and it was GUSHING blood and they cut like half my toe nail off. Gross huh. Just a side note…..not really sure if they knew what they were doing. hahahaha. They didnt seem like it but we will see when my toe heals huh. WELCOME TO MEXICO. hahaha greatest place on earth. hahaha. but they told mi not to walk on it for a while and if i did i had to use flip-flops….but since when do i obey doctors orders…isnt that right Mom. hahahaha. But i figured Heavenly Father would bless mi and he really has. That day i walked out of the hospital right to an appointment and we worked hard that vary same day. and it didnt even hurt mi and i havent even taken pain killers even though they gave them to mi. cool huh. My comp asked mi the other day if my toe hurts. And i told him no. and he said its a blessing from God because normally they hurt a lot after and he said , i think the Lord blessed you because you went right back out to work and never took it easy. So it was a great blessing in my life.

Also I got to see the fruits of my labors from Agua Dulce (my first area). because the other day President Hansen called mi and told mi he was on his way home from Agua Dulce. And i asked why. And he said he just got finished watching the baptism of a 107 year old lady named Guadalupe. Elder Sanchez and i first started teaching her in december and were about to baptize her but right before her baptism she got taken to another state to get
studies done. And didint come back until after we both left the area. And Elder Alvarado was able to harvest the fruits. She is awesome and said to mi something that i will never forget. When we asked her if she would be baptized, she said……I will do anything to enter into the kingdom of God……that is something that hit mi hard and is the mind frame i have always tried to have. Its super hard at times. But its like that scripture…if we dont become as children (or 107 year old people) we cannot enter into the Kingdom of God.

WEll just an update. Those kids we pulled out of bed. have baptism dates for the 18 de abril. And all is going well here. The work is going awesome and satan is working super hard on the people here that even one of our baptisms fell through on the day of. But these are just trials to test our faith. Keep rocking and rolling everyone. Didnt you all LOVE conference and couldnt you all just feel the Holy Ghost testify through each one of those profetas. Its amazing. Well oi gotta go. The Church is TRUE . Love you all and thanks for the prayers and love and support.

Love you all long time
